Abstract

The paper presents shortly a three-stage process of employee performance management (EPM) and its determinants. These above created a background to present some new challenges a line manager should meet in a work process. Particular attention was paid to the poor skills of managers in the EPM and the impact of technology in this regard, as well as new requirements in the work process in terms of flexible forms of employment, lack of employee’s trust against performance appraisal, a managerial problems in time management and requirements of the younger generation of knowledge workers.
